About doingText
doingText is a web based text editor for collaborative writing - proudly presented by Upstream-Agile.
For text collaboration to be successful, the basic need is to talk about the content of a text. The focus is on the communicative needs of groups.
doingText offers a paragraph-based comment function so the ideas of every cowriter are right beside the text. Yet the text itself is not destroyed by user comments shown inbetween. Texts and comments are unified in discussions. Easy sharing of the discussion's URL with no required login for the cowriters let people focus on the elaboration of their text. Various ways of tracking changes of a discussion give users the option to integrate the collaboration into their individual workflow style.
On another level, doingText is open for individual distribution. Besides the classical way of downloading the texts as *.txt and *.pdf files, the users can embed the discussions into their own website or even use the API for integrating doingText into their own application.

Our mission
Let's Talk About Text!
Write and Communicate the Effortless Way.
"Simplicity - the art of maximizing the amount of work not done - is essential." (Principle 10 of the Agile Manifesto)
We believe in applications that respect and serve the needs of the user and won't burden them with complex, uncomprehensible functions.
Working on a project or thinking about an article's topic provides enough items for the to-do-list. Organizing and being annoyed by the used technology should not be part of this process.
The User
We believe that an application must serve the user's habits, not the other way round.
We have several feedback channels to get in touch with the users, because only they can tell which bits 'n' pieces have to be improved to make doingTexta a great user experience.
Sharing Thoughts Is the Key for Well-Written Texts
Text collaboration is writing together on a text, but even more it is talking about that text.
The process of creating a text in a group means checking every single phrase, reformulating sentences or talking about the idea behind a certain passage. We serve the needs by providing a central place where all cowriters can reach the text and its ideas at any time.
It's Not Just a Piece of Software
We believe in applications that put a smile on the user's face. With doingText we want to create an application which offers hazzle-free integration into the work-flow as well as inciting ideas for improving it.
All Your Data Are Belong to Us. Not.
User-Service-Relationships are built on trust. The trust that we care about data security. The trust that the content is not locked up somewhere inside a service's universe. We build trust by caring about the user's interests.
Fair and Transparent Service
User have a right to get transparant information on the service they pay for. If there is any problem or downtime or whatever, we tell the user and work on solutions immediately.
